We are now in Guangzhou, more specifically in Shamian Island. This is a beautiful place. It is calm and peaceful. There are very few cars here. The White Swan hotel is amazing. The architecture and decorations are magnificent. There are bonsai trees, koi fish pond and a 3 story high waterfall in the middle of the hotel. It is quite luxurious.
Yesterday was a work day as Juliana had her picture taken for visa, medical appointment and mom had lots of paperwork to complete. She did quite well during her medical exam, but the doctors were also very gentle and caring. Today we have a free day and we will walk around the island and do some more shopping. I might have more time to write later.
Nós estamos agora em Guangzhou, mais especificamente na Ilha de Shamian. Este lugar é lindo. Tão calmo e tranquilo. Tem poucos carros aqui. O hotel White Swan (Cisne Branco) é maravilhoso. A arquitetura, e decoraçao são magníficas. Tem árvores de Bonsai, carpas num lago e uma cascata de 3 andares no meio do hotel. É tudo muito luxuoso.
Ontem foi um dia de trabalho pra gente, pois a Juliana teve que tirar foto pro visto, o exame médico e a mamãe teve que completar a papelada pro visto. Ela se comportou direitinho durante o exame médico, mas os médicos também foram gentis e cuidadosos com ela.Hoje temos o dia livre e vamos passear pela ilha e fazer algumas compras. Talvez tenha mais tempo pra escrever a tarde.

Be sure to take a leisurely early morning stroll in the park along then river. You get a wonderful taste for the real China with all the people there: exercising, singing, dancing.

I can't believe we have seen so much of your amazing adventure. Every morning I check and look at everything again and cry for happy. What a doll she is, your Juliana. The smiles on your faces tell it all. Finally! You look like pros as you hold her and talk to her. And she has discovered special things about her Daddy already. What a wonderful Christmas present.
